Ms. Aparna Sinha

Ms. Aparna SinhaMs. Aparna Sinha was appointed as an ex-officio Member of the Governing Board of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) on 24 March 2026, representing the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. She holds a Bachelor’s degree (Economics Honours) from Hindu College, University of Delhi, and a Master’s degree in Economics from Annamalai University.

Ms. Sinha is a 1999-batch officer of the Indian Economic Service (IES) with extensive experience in economic policy, international trade, and financial sector matters.
She has held several key positions in the Government of India. She began her career with the Regional Evaluation Organization (REO) of the erstwhile Planning Commission (now NITI Aayog), Chennai, where she was engaged in the evaluation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS). She subsequently served for many years in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, handling services trade negotiations in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks. From 2017 to 2020, she served as Counsellor (Services) at the Permanent Mission of India to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Geneva.

She is currently serving as Economic Adviser in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, where she deals with a wide range of financial sector issues, including the digital economy and fintech, financial stability, cybersecurity, legislative and regulatory reforms, financial inclusion, and crypto-sector matters.
