As part of the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) organized a one-day workshop for Registered Valuers, in hybrid mode (physical and virtual), on 24th December 2021. In view of the prevailing Covid situation, only limited number of participants were invited to attend the event in physical mode, at IBBI office in New Delhi. Mr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Chief General Manager, IBBI while inaugurating the Workshop, addressed the participants, setting the context for the workshop. The eminent faculty included Mr. Sunil Chugh, General Manager, Punjab National Bank; Mr. Sanjeev Ahuja, Insolvency Professional; Mr. Abhay Kumar, Registered Valuer; and Mr. Harish Chander Dhamija, Registered Valuer. The workshop ended with vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Assistant General Manager, IBBI. The workshop aimed at developing a better understanding of the role of valuers and valuation report in terms of – a) expectations of Financial Creditors and Insolvency Professionals b) challenges faced during valuation of distressed companies c) use and significance of technology in valuation assignments d) Caveats, Limitations and Disclaimers to be used in Valuation Report. The Workshop was an interactive one and was very well received by the participants. Their queries were addressed by the distinguished speakers.
